The Benefits of Couples Therapy

Couples come to therapy together for various reasons, but the heart of most issues is usually due to a breakdown of communication or a lack of intimacy. Being open and transparent with each other can be very scary.

Couples therapy offers both partners quality time, space and opportunity to talk about things that you may find difficult and scary to talk about. I will support you and your partner to communicate and understand each other better, this often helps you both to learn things about each other that you never previously knew, opening up a whole new world of intimacy.

We came to couples therapy with David because we were at the end of our tether. My partner was skeptical, and it was very challenging at first, but David helped us to work through our relationship issues. Now, our third child is due in May, and we celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary in June. We can’t thank David enough.

P&E

Couples who come to therapy together learn to talk to each other and listen to each other better, to improve the quality of their relationship, and to realign with their values and reasons for wanting to stay together. Research shows that couples therapy positively impacts 70% of couples who access support from a therapist. They also improve the overall satisfaction in their relationship.
